2026 August 28-30 10 am-5 pm EST Instructor: Jean Francois Arnaud This three-day workshop is an invitation to discover the art of the sketchbook, the perfect companion for painters and travelers, always ready to capture a fleeting moment, an idea, or an emotion. The beauty of watercolor sketching is also its challenge—it highlights the quality of drawing and encourages careful observation. We will learn how to compose a page, choose what we want to express, and balance shapes, colors, and small handwritten notes to create lively, personal memories. Watercolor will be our main medium, an ideal partner for travel sketching: light, spontaneous, and perfect for capturing landscapes, streets, or everyday scenes. Therefore, we will spend time on the fundamentals of observational drawing, simplifying shapes, and gaining confidence in our lines so that each page remains fresh and free. This workshop welcomes everyone—curious beginners or more experienced artists—who wish to look, draw, and be surprised. After three days, each participant will leave with a unique sketchbook, a true reflection of their own journey.
